Sudurnes golf club operates an 18-hole championship course called Hólmsvöllur or Sudurnes golf course. It is located in the southwestern part of Iceland in the county of Reykjanes. A drive from Reykjavik city center takes approximately 1 hour but only 10 minutes from Keflavík airport.
Sudurnes golf course is a regular venue for the Icelandic golf tour and is often used as the first tournament venue of the year because of their good course conditions. It has a links layout and is placed by the sea side on the Reykjanes peninsula. It can get breezy at the site which can make it more difficult for you to create a good score on the challenging course. Playing here will be your perfect stopover if you have a connecting flight from Keflavik airport or if you have time to spare before your flight.
Facilities at Sudurnes golf course include a club-house with a restaurant and a pro-shop. Rental of golf clubs, trolleys and carts are also available. The practice area includes driving range, ball machine, chipping green and a putting green.

Our favorite hole at Sudurnes golf course: 18th hole – a par five with a small lake on the left side of the fairway and bunker on the right. The green is covered with bunkers and is quite undulating. This hole might give you a chance of a good score and a good ending of your round.
